Cosmetic Smile Makeovers

VENEERS

To disign your smile, Dr. Ritsco may suggest the use of porcelain dental veneers.  Veneers are an excellent option for correcting chipping, misaligned, or stained teeth, or filling in gaps and creating better tooth shape. Dr. Ritsco is an industry leader in the no tooth preparation and minimal-preparation techniques, which can eliminate the need for drills, shots, and tooth reduction.

Dr. Ritsco has trained thousands of dentists around the world in cosmetic dentistry techniques.

The Ritsco Difference

Dr. Ritsco uses an artistic and innovative approach to veneer application. His no-prep and minimal-prep techniques provide a conservative aesthetic option without traditional tooth preparation, which can be aggressive. At the Ritsco Center, he offers a variety of new veneer materials to create a durable, functional, natural-looking smile that is distinctly you.

Your Veneers: Getting Started

Dr. Ritsco will assess your teeth in order to determine whether you are a candidate for no-preparation Ultrathin™,  Veneers, traditional porcelain veneers. Unlike most clinical dental offices, which simply send your information to a ceramist who then creates your veneers, Dr. Ritsco personally designs your new smile and communicates his expectations with a master ceramist to ensure the proper shape, color, and size.

Veneers can be an excellent addition to your smile makeover because they improve several imperfections, such as:

  • Discolored teeth
  • Misshapen or crooked teeth
  • Gaps or uneven spacing
  • Inadequate gum-to-tooth ratio

What's involved?

Your procedure will vary depending on which type of veneers Dr. Ritsco recommends. The traditional approach to veneer application generally involves some tooth preparation and reduction of enamel. It is recommended for those with very damaged, misaligned or discolored teeth. The no-prep or minimal-prep techniques with Ultrathin™, traditional veneers, bond a smooth coating of porcelain over the teeth for a seamless finish.

How long does the procedure take?

Some veneers can be designed and placed in the same day. Others are created in a lab by a master ceramist can take 1 to 3 weeks to be made. Dr. Ritsco may provide you with temporary veneers at your preparation appointment to wear during this time which will mimic your new smile and provide a beautiful smile until your veneers are ready to be placed.

Will I experience discomfort?

No-prep and minimal-prep techniques are very simple procedures that generally do not require any type of anesthetic. Local anesthetic is used in traditional veneers, but any discomfort is minimal and usually this is confined to the area where the injection was given. Every effort is given to make sure the procedure is as comfortable as possible. Sedation is also an option if you are apprehensive.

What will I look like afterward?

Your teeth will have better shape and color after your veneers are placed. Crooked or misaligned teeth will appear straighter and your overall appearance will improve.
